I've heard nothing but good over the dubbed singing, which apparently corrects some Engrish problems from the original, and I would love to not have to watch these crappy quality tv rips with unforgivably bad audio quality for a show revolving around music I vote for this as well.

Count me in for Beck. I hope for a release with 5.1 audio if possible - that would be really great!

Some knowledgeable guys reminded me that the english version of Beck was edited during the dubbing - the video was edited, I mean - and the result is a bad/difficult to encode/deteriorated source.
Have you heard something about this?
If that's the case, maybe you need R2 dvds....

I've heard the same thing about the edited video, straight from some of the English VAs who worked on the series -- it wasn't Funimation screwing around for the heck of it, it was because of legal issues from all the trademarks and brand names that show up during the series. I've seen this requested on other groups' forums, and they've basically said the same thing -- "R1 source is too screwed up, we need R2s." Like many others, I have the A-E fansub version, but I'd love to hear Beck in English without resorting to the TV-rips that are out there. So I'm hoping that somebody will find a way to release a DVD-rip version.

I hope it's possible to integrate both audio streams for this, as I heard they are timed differently that it causes issues with encoding.
Strangely this reminds me of the Street Fighter the Movie anime where the Japanese audio was completely different to the botched US audio. Which was really shocking when I first heard it.

Frankly speaking, the best part of this anime is the music - a "japanese only audio" (with ass subs) for this series will be more than welcome as far as I'm concerned.
